Duet for Cymbal

This is not a work Cage actually composed, but it is suggested in the subtitle and performance instructions of Cartridge Music.
In the performance instructions Cage indicates connecting a contact microphone to the instrument. He suggests the use of sheet 1, making readings as in Cartridge Music. Where change of object is indicated, the cymbal should be lowered into water or onto piano strings, a mat or other materials in order to change the sound radically.
The subtitle of Cartridge Music ("also DUET FOR CYMBAL and PIANO DUET, TRIO etc."), also suggests other possible combinations of instrument(s).
