| This work is not mentioned in any other worklist. The instrumentation for the three
movements (I.[Fast] - II. - III. [With spirit]) is: Hand clap, block, 6 tom toms,
claves, cowbells, rattle (first movement). Toy piano, muted gongs, slide whistle, cymbal, bass drum, low tom tom and ratchet (second movement).
Piano, claves and slapstick (third movement). Bob Kosovsky writes: "The Music Division [of the New York Public Library, AC] has programs for Mills College's summer sessions. Those for 1940 and 1941 indicate that Cage was on the faculty of the Dance Department (not the Music Department), where he taught courses in how to accompany dance, on percussion, and apparently took on private students."
