The score consists of 53 flexible time brackets with single sounds produced on one, two, three or four strings, using a curved bow (developed by Michael Bach). All time brackets overlap, so the composition may be performed like a sound continuum.
Durations, dynamics and bow positions are left to the performer. Pitches include microtonal deviations, indicated by small arrows on the accidentals.
One8 may be performed with 108. In that case the title changes to One8 and 108. For other combinations with 108: see Two3 and One9.
